What Does The Skillnet Group Believe?

The vision of the Skillnet Group is to support people to speak up, make choices, be heard and taken seriously.

We support people to develop opportunities and make real choices in all aspects of life, including: learning, work, housing, health, money, leisure and relationships.

The Skillnet Group works with people with learning difficulties and other agencies, organisations and individuals who want to work in partnership to:

• Challenge discriminatory attitudes in society.

• Work and live in a person-centred way.

• Enable society to recognize the positive contribution that all people in society can make.

• To ensure that people with learning difficulties have the opportunity for paid employment within the Skillnet Group (and with other employers).

• Ensure access to opportunities for people with learning difficulties within society.

• Support people to speak up for themselves – including people with high support needs.
