Self-advocacy means speaking up for ourselves and making sure people know our views and take us seriously.

Self-advocacy means knowing our rights but also our responsibilities.

Self-advocacy means being included in making
decisions about the things that affect our lives.

This could mean decisions about:

• Being more confident.
• Having more control over our lives.
• Having more freedom to speak for ourselves.
• Being more independent.
