Debbie Jewsbury – Project Lead (Training)

My name is Debbie Jewsbury and I am a Project Lead (Training) for Skillnet Group. I started working for the Skillnet Group back in December 2004 as a tutor and since then I have had a few different job roles, such as, Development Officer (Sheppey and Sittingbourne), and Project Lead (Courses)

Before joining Skillnet Group I worked as a teacher in 2 different primary schools and then I worked for the Royal National Institute for the Deaf (R.N.I.D) supporting two adults to live independently in their community. Whilst I was working there I learnt Level 1 British Sign Language, this was something that I always wanted to do.

Training Within Skillnet Group I support people to design courses and make them accessible, for example, ASDAN Employability. I also internally moderate most of the qualifications that people want to achieve, such as, progression in media studies, progression in music production and employability.
