We are a team of people with and without learning difficulties.
We are supporting children in schools to include us in the community by meeting and showing them
“How we want to be treated”

We have made a presentation/interactive workshop and share it with our local schools and colleges. We have secured funding from our local councils. This pays our wages when we work with the schools.
When we go to schools we talk about:
- Our experiences
- Equal rights
- Personal space
- Being individuals and having choices
We have given our presentation over 100 times
We now have a new workshop called Making English Real. Students at Folkestone Academy and Green Park C of E Primary School have had the chance to come and work with us. We have had really good feedback.
We contact the schools then:
s called “Making English Real”.
- Pupils apply for a fictitious position in our company.
- We short list the applicants
- Conduct interviews at the school
- The successful applicant works with the team for a day.
- They input their ideas for presentations and workshops.
- They then work with us to give the presentation to the children in the year below them.
Our project fits in really well with the school curriculum
The Schools Project Team meets, in Dover, once a week on Fridays’.
- We work on our presentation
- We practise what we will say
- We phone schools and make appointments to give our presentation/interactive workshop
- We keep a budget and time sheets
- We create new workshops/presentations
The Future
- We are just starting Schools Project groups in Folkestone and Thanet. We think they will work really well and are excited
- We are creating new workshops to follow up and find out how much the children have learnt and understood
- We are asking people to join the team
